Joshua Hugo- Weekly: February 8, 2009

I know this is gross, but I'll explain. This is a picture of a filthy shower plug that I found while walking around the neighborhood vicinity. I got this one in an alleyway. This fits into irony to me. When people think, maybe like, shower or bath or something (which constitutes to this plug, I guess)...we think cleanliness or maybe purity. Well this symbol of purity has become contaminated, or diseased if you will. We never expect purity to be turned into diseased. When I think of something like this, it reminds me of society in general. People everywhere: politicians, lawmen, religion figures, ect. are constantly being swept up in their greed and sin. Not everyone is like that however, but we know that there are some people like that.

    this picture is very different to me and it caught my eye because i cant tell that that is a bath plug, at first the leaves over power the image of the plug but looking at it closer shows where the real art part comes from, the plug

    Good eye. I see the irony as you explained and like how you related this to society because it couldn't be more true, especially in this day and age.

    I really like your explaination of how, something pure, and clean can be turned over time into something the exact opposite of what it was intended for.. This is a great example of our current financial crisis, and the greed and corruption on wall street!
