
I took this picture of our downstairs carpet because it reminded me of a Jackson Polluck work when I put my camera almost to the floor. I like how the carpet fibers look swirl together and make it look like a painting, not carpet.
Artists nurture their ability to find interest or beauty in the mundane, the ordinary and the natural world. Through practice, they accentuate this focus, typically as a driving force in their work. From Observation is a community blog project that engages its participants, students and the community at large to take part in this exercise by finding beauty and interest in their everyday lives.
